Toronto Raptors at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and prediction

The Toronto Raptors (34-29) kick off a six-game road trip Sunday with a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers (36-27). Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. ET at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Below, we look at the Raptors vs. Cavaliers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Toronto is in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, which puts it in the play-in games to determine the final two seeds for the playoffs. The Raptors trail Cleveland by two games for the sixth seed. They ended their homestand with losses to the Detroit Pistons (108-106 Thursday) and Orlando Magic (103-97 Friday), the two worst teams in the conference.

The Cavaliers are 1-4 since the All-Star break and 1-6 in their last seven games overall. They are coming off a 125-119 road loss to the Philadelphia 76ers Friday. Cleveland is part of a tight Eastern Conference playoff race and is only three games behind the second-place 76ers.

Raptors at Cavaliers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 108, Raptors 104

Money line

The Cavaliers are 2-0 this season against the Raptors with a 102-101 nailbiter Nov. 5 and a 144-99 blowout Dec. 26. They are 19-11 at home this season.

The Raptors are 17-14 on the road this season and 5-3 in their last eight road contests.

I LEAN CAVALIERS (-210) in this game.

Against the spread

The Raptors have failed to cover the spread in their last three games and have only covered it in three of their last 10 outings. They are 35-28 ATS overall and an impressive 19-12 ATS on the road.

The Cavs are 17-12-1 ATS at home this season. They covered the spread in their loss to the 76ers but failed to do so in six games in a row before that.

I anticipate a close game. I LEAN RAPTORS +5.5 (-120).

Over/Under

The projected total is quite low. The two teams did have one game of 203 but the other was 243.

Four of the Cavs’ last six games have finished with totals greater than tonight’s projection. Five of the last six for the Raptors have been greater than 209.

Take OVER 209.5 (-112).
