Connecticut at Georgetown odds, picks and prediction

The 20th-ranked Connecticut Huskies (20-7, 11-5 Big East) visit the last-place Georgetown Hoyas (6-21, 0-16) Sunday at Capital One Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for noon ET (CBS). Below, we look at the Connecticut vs. Georgetown odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

The Huskies pushed past No. 8 Villanova 71-69 Tuesday for their 20th victory of the season last time out, a fourth consecutive win. Back on Jan. 25, UConn beat Georgetown 96-73 as a 15.5-point home favorite.

The Hoyas are the only winless team in the conference – 0-16 in the Big East – and have lost 17 games in a row. Georgetown’s last victory came against Howard Dec. 15. However, G’town has covered two of the past three with the Under going 3-0 in those past three outings.

Connecticut at Georgetown odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Connecticut 78, Georgetown 65

Money line

Connecticut (-700) will cost seven times your potential return. That’s just way too expensive for a money line bet, even if it is tied into a multi-team parlay.

PASS, and look to the spread.

Against the spread

Play CONNECTICUT -10.5 (-120) despite the extra 10% juice as the Huskies are totally worth it against a team on a 17-game skid.

It’s usually risky business playing a double-digit favorite on the road, but Georgetown has been worse than bad.

UConn won the first meeting by 23 points. There’s no reason to believe the Hoyas will offer stiffer resistance this time around.

Over/Under

UNDER 145.5 (-112) is the lean here, worth a small-unit play only.

Georgetown ranks 176th in the nation in scoring at 71.1 points per game, and it has hit the Under in three consecutive outings.

The Under has cashed in three of the past four for UConn.
