New York Islanders at Los Angeles Kings odds, picks and prediction

The New York Islanders (19-20-8) battle the Los Angeles Kings (28-17-7) at Arena in Los Angeles Saturday. Puck drop is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we look at the Islanders vs. Kings odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Islanders have picked up at least one point in each of the previous four outings with two wins and a pair of shootout losses. The Isles are an impressive 6-3-2 in 11 games on the road against Western Conference teams this season.

The Kings registered a 4-1 win in Anaheim Friday and have won four consecutive games since their last loss Feb. 15 against the Edmonton Oilers. L.A. is 4-0-2 in the past six games against the Eastern Conference, including a 3-2 win Jan. 27 on Long Island.

Sorokin hasn’t lost in regulation in four starts since a 6-3 loss in Buffalo Feb. 15. He allowed 3 goals on 28 shots in a shootout loss in San Jose Thursday, and he picked up a win in Seattle Tuesday.

Islanders at Kings odds, lines, picks and predictions

Kings 3, Islanders 2

Money line

The KINGS (-130) are worth a play on home ice against the visiting Islanders. Los Angeles has rattled off victories in four consecutive games, and Petersen shut down the Islanders in the previous meeting in their own barn. Look for L.A. to stay hot in SoCal.

Against the spread

The Islanders +1.5 (-260) will cost you over two and a half times your potential return, and that’s just too pricey on the road. If you like the Isles, just play them straight up.

The UNDER 5.5 (-122) is the lean, but play it lightly.

The Over has cashed in four straight on the road for the Islanders, but the Under is 9-4-1 in the past 14 against winning teams. While the Over is 6-2 in the past eight for the Kings, the Under is a solid 20-7 in their previous 27 as a home favorite.
