Butler at St. John's odds, picks and prediction

The Butler Bulldogs (13-13, 6-9 Big East) and St. John’s Red Storm (14-11, 6-8) meet Friday in New York. The contest at Carnesecca Arena is slated to tip off at 5 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Butler vs. St. John’s odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Butler downed DePaul 73-71 Tuesday in Chicago. The slow-tempo Bulldogs scored 158 combined points over consecutive wins after averaging just 59.7 points per game (PPG) in going 2-7 from Jan. 16-Feb. 8. That stretch included a 75-72 home loss to this St. John’s team.

St. John’s, conversely, is a fast-paced team. They’re coming off an 86-73 victory at Xavier Wednesday but had two low-scoring losses prior. The Red Storm averaged 78.6 PPG over five games from Jan. 24-Feb. 5 but are 5-7 over their last dozen games. The Storm have lost their last four home games, last winning Carnesecca Arena Jan. 16.
