The Boston Red Sox (25-18) and Toronto Blue Jays (23-17) will square off on Wednesday night at TD Ballpark with the first pitch coming at 7:37 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the Red Sox vs. Blue Jays odds with MLB picks and predictions.
RHP Garrett Richards is the projected starting pitcher for the Red Sox. He is 3-2 with a 3.89 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 8.2 K/9 and 3.9 BB/9 in 41 2/3 IP over eight starts.
Richards is off to a solid start in his first season with the Red Sox, and he’s allowed one or fewer runs in three of his last five starts. Most recently, Richards pitched six shutout innings against the A’s, grabbing the win despite allowing five hits and walking three batters.
In one start against the Blue Jays this year, Richards gave up four runs on four hits with six walks across just 4 2/3 innings.
RHP Ross Stripling is the projected starting pitcher for the Blue Jays. He is 0-2 with a 5.91 ERA, 1.69 WHIP, 11.0 K/9 and 3.4 BB/9 in 21 1/3 IP over five starts.
Stripling has struggled to go deep into games this season. He hasn’t pitched more than five innings in a single outing, though he hasn’t allowed more than four runs in a start, either.
In his most recent start last Thursday, Stripling pitched five innings and allowed just two runs with nine strikeouts.

Red Sox at Blue Jays odds, lines, picks and prediction
- Money line: Red Sox -105 (bet $105 to win $100) | Blue Jays -115 (bet $115 to win $115)
- Against the spread/ATS: Red Sox -1.5 (+145) | Blue Jays +1.5 (-175)
- Over/Under: 10 (O: -105 | U: -115)
Red Sox 5, Blue Jays 3
Money line (ML)
At -105, the Red Sox are a great value with Richards on the bump, even though he struggled last time out against the Blue Jays.
He was sharp in his last start against Oakland, striking out four and allowing zero runs in six innings.
Bet the RED SOX (-105) tonight on the road, where Richards has allowed just eight runs in 29 innings this season.
The Blue Jays have been good against the spread this season, going 23-17 ATS – including a 10-5 mark at home. Boston has been equally impressive on the road, though, going 12-6 ATS away from Fenway Park.
I like the RED SOX -1.5 (+145) against the spread, especially at plus-money.
The total has only gone Over in two of the Red Sox’s last 10 games and in five of Toronto’s last 10. Boston could erupt with the struggling Stripling on the mound, but Richards should be able to keep the Blue Jays in check.
Bet the UNDER 10 (-115).
