The Phoenix Suns (42-18) play their second straight game in the Big Apple Monday, this one against the New York Knicks (34-27) at Madison Square Garden. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Suns-Knicks odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Phoenix lost its second consecutive game Sunday to the first-place Brooklyn Nets by a 128-119 score as a 1-point road dog. This is the finale of a five-game Eastern Conference road swing and the Suns split the first four straight up while going 1-2-1 against the spread.

New York has won nine straight and covered the spread in 12 in a row with the latest being a 120-103 beatdown of the Toronto Raptors Saturday afternoon.

The Knicks currently hold the tiebreaker over the Atlanta Hawks for fourth place in the East.

Suns at Knicks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Knicks 114, Suns 109

Money line (ML)

PASS with a slight “lean” to the Knicks (+110) since I “lean” to New York covering the spread. Ultimately, you’d be down serious money this season if you faded the Suns against good teams.

According to CleaningTheGlass.com, the Suns have the sixth-highest net efficiency vs. top-10 teams in net efficiency with a 10-6 overall record.

Against the spread (ATS)

“LEAN” to the KNICKS +2 (-110) for three-fourths of a unit because of their unique style and basketball identity which is hard for opposing teams to prepare for.

New York is a very physical team, hasn’t had many letdown spots this season and the Knicks have the highest cover rate when playing with a rest advantage (12-3-1 ATS).

Over this New York’s 12-game ATS winning streak, the Knicks have the highest net rating, the fifth-highest effective field-goal percentage and the eighth-best turnover rate.

What’s also flown under the radar as it relates to New York’s stunning 2020-21 regular-season campaign is the fact the Knicks have the fifth-highest 3-point percentage for the season.

Over/Under (O/U)

Slight “LEAN” to the OVER 214.5 (-115) for a quarter unit because while both teams are elite defensively, they are each outstanding in 3-point shooting.

Also, the Knicks have cashed six straight Overs as underdogs, and the Suns have played to the Over in three of their last four games and six of their previous nine.
