The Denver Nuggets (37-20) drop by Moda Center Wednesday for a 10 p.m. ET game against the Portland Trail Blazers (32-25). Below, we analyze the Nuggets-Trail Blazers odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Denver has won three in a row following back-to-back losses and is 2-3 against the spread over its past five games. Prior to this stretch, the Nuggets won eight straight games from March 26-April 9 and covered the spread in six of those games.

Portland lost its second straight game Tuesday 113-112 to the Los Angeles Clippers as a 3.5-point home underdog. The Trail Blazers are just 2-6 straight up and 3-5 ATS in their last eight games.

The Nuggets beat the Blazers 111-106 Feb. 23 in their first and only meeting of the season to date.

Nuggets at Trail Blazers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Trail Blazers 119, Nuggets 112

Money line (ML)

It would be a huge boost to the TRAIL BLAZERS (+105) if Lillard is able to play tonight, especially considering the absence of Murray for the Nuggets.

Since this is projected by bookmakers to be a tight game, I’d prefer to take a Trail Blazers team that’s one of the best in the league at winning close games.

Portland has the second-best net rating in clutch situations and Denver is sixth, but the absence of Murray significantly hurts its chances of closing out the Trail Blazers.

Also, Blazers C Jusuf Nurkic has played well against his former Nuggets teammate and MVP frontrunner Nikola Jokic since Denver traded Nurkic to Portland in 2017.

Nurkic is outscoring, outrebounding and shooting better from the field than Jokic in their eight career head-to-head meetings.

Finally, this is a “pros vs. joes” situation in the betting market with more money coming in on Portland’s money line but more bets have been placed on Denver’s money line, according to Pregame.com.

Against the spread (ATS)

PASS unless this spread is steamed up to the Trail Blazers getting 2.5 points then I’d prefer Portland plus the points more than its money line.

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS with a slight “lean” to the OVER 230.5 (-110) because the Over cashed in six of the last 10 Nuggets-Trail Blazers games and these teams have a combined 63-51 O/U record this season.

However, the market is barreling into the Over and I don’t want to follow a huge crowd on an obvious bet.
