NBA playoffs betting: Odds, lines for Tuesday, April 23rd basketball games

In today’s SportsbookWire Best Bets series, we focus on Tuesday’s NBA betting playoff action, which is a four-game slate. Full breakdowns on each matchup can be found at SportsbookWire.USATODAY.com

San Antonio Spurs at Denver Nuggets

Moneyline: Neither team has won two games in a row after they split each other’s first two home games of the series. The Nuggets were 14-point winners in Game 4 in San Antonio, but we’ll follow the back-and-forth trend and roll with the Spurs at +195.

Against the spread: San Antonio’s a slightly easier pick at -110 to cover +5.5 points.

Over/under: Despite the slow pace of 94.8 possessions per game in the series, Tuesday’s total of 211.5 has been topped in each of the past three games. Pick the OVER again at -110.

Orlando Magic at Toronto Raptors

Moneyline: Toronto is laying a massive -850 on home court as it seeks entry to the second round. The Magic has shown little sign of posing a threat since its surprise Game 1 upset so there’s no need to play the +575 for the road team.

Against the spread: The Raptors are being spotted -11.5 points on the spread with odds of -110 on either side. We can back the home squad to win by another convincing number.

Over/under: Tuesday’s total of 206 is higher than the combined score of any of the first four games. Roll with the UNDER once more at -110.

Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers

Moneyline: The 76ers are listed at -380 odds, which are likely being tempered due to the uncertainty regarding Joel Embiid’s status. We’ll take the better value with the spread.

Against the spread: The Sixers have covered Tuesday’s spread of -8.5 in two of their three consecutive wins. The Nets held them to a four-point win in Game 4, but Philadelphia should come out better at home with the chance to move on at -110.

Over/under: Two of the four games surpassed the total of 229.5 set for Game 5. Back the OVER once again in a do or die game for the Nets.

Oklahoma City Thunder at Portland Trailblazers

Moneyline: Portland is a safe play at -160 to close out the first-round series on home court after opening the postseason at +110 to win its quarterfinals matchup.

Against the spread: Bettors can get a greater number on the Blazers with -110 odds to cover the -3.5-point spread. There hasn’t been a game in the series played within four points.

Over/under: Just one of four games has gone over Tuesday’s number of 218.5. Roll with the UNDER (-110).
